Rural production and service systems

Agricultural production, and its processing and marketing, are the main sources of income and food in rural areas. Small family farms in developing countries are permanently exposed to climate and economic risks and have rarely made it out of poverty.. Research and development strengthens the rural population and prevents their migration to cities.
